"My experience is unusual. This was my sixth baby. This was a home birth and Serina has been my best friend since high school. With that disclaimer, here is my story.
I had my baby in January and Serina came for experience and to support me. I have had all my babies at home and my last three were very fast. So, I called Serina right away when my water broke and she came right over. (I found out later she had been out late and had only 2 hours of sleep before my call.) My birth took only an hour but Serina and I chatted between contractions, while my husband got our disabled son ready to go to Grandma's. Then, when it was time, Serina Caught our new daughter! Then she jumped right ino keeping our 4 other children busy while my team finished cleaning up, etc... It was a whirlwind but very special. Serina was a joy to have with us like always and added some very special memories for me."

We loved working with Serina! She was kind, thoughtful, and went the extra mile to help us through the end of our pregnancy and delivery. She was also wonderful with our toddler and watched her during one of my appointments so my husband could attend with me, as we don't have other childcare options. Her support during labor was irreplaceable and I'm so glad we went with her as our doula. She was supportive of our choices and advocated for me and my comfort, and kept me calm when I started to panic. And she didn't disappear after the baby was born, she checked in on me in the following weeks to make sure I was doing ok, especially with my history of PPD. Serina is not just a good doula, she's a good person, and she's who I want by my side if we have any more babies

We were a little late in the game when we started to look for a doula. I was well into my third trimester, but when we met Serina, she seemed like such a good fit for us. She listened to my fears and concerns that stemmed from my first birth and encouraged me every time those feelings bubble up. I went through weeks of intense false/prodromal labor. Through it all Serina sent me daily positive messages, visited our home, and worked with me on comfort techniques. She was by my side through a tough, fast and intense natural hospital birth. When everything felt so out of control, I was so relieved to have her and my husband holding my hands. I would absolutely recommend Elevate Her Doula to anyone having a baby. Serina is currently my Doula, I've had her as my doula from day one, and am currently 26 weeks. I've known Serina for years, she truly loves motherhood, babies, and everything around it.
I was concerned however, that because she is Christian she would push her beliefs on me and tell me what is right, wrong, and what "god" wants. While we have had several in depth and vulnerable conversations where we have shared our ideas and morals, she hasn't once pushed her Christian belief system. And that is a big reason why I've stuck with her. It takes a strong person to have devout beliefs and not try to convert a struggling single first-time mom. Not only has she adapted how she communicates with me in a natural way, knowing my belief system, she also has adapted how she communicates to cater to how I communicate. I am a very direct and brash style communicator. Even the info she will send sometimes are quick get to the point style articles and videos.
Serina has come to every doctors appointment, has asked detailed questions before and after appointments as far as what I expect going into the appointment and how I feel after. She's helped me pick baby names, outfits, and has sent lots of directly pertinent information about birth.
Most importantly though, I feel empowered, confident even, in raising a child alone due in a major part to how much encouragement she has provided and will continue to provide through this experience.

Serina came on as our nanny about a month before our twins were born. We already have a 3.5 yr old, 2 yr old so having someone like Serina was the best decision we could have made. She's very caring and attentive to what I need especially in the early days of when the twins were newborn and I had no way of moving around because of the c-section. She’s gentle, patient and kind. There were a few nights she helped with over night care as my husband was out of town and she was a huge help! She’s willing to go above and beyond for helping, she even helped us move after the twins were 2 mo old! She has always been very reliable, prompt and is great at communicating. I have been able to go to all my appointments with no worry about leaving the kiddos, even if she has all four! She’s great with kids and I would recommend her to anyone!
